Two Cruises, One Suitcase (and a Very Tired Editing Timeline)
Two blog posts in two days?! Woo hoo… but let’s be honest—this will not be the norm. I’d love to just gab and gab away, but we have way too much content to get posted. If you’ve ever come home from a trip and thought, “We should rest,” but then remembered you’re also the camera person, editor, uploader, thumbnail maker, caption writer, and snack distributor… yeah. Welcome to our current era.
We just got back from our first back-to-back cruise, and it was equal parts magical, chaotic, and incredibly efficient.
Wait… what’s a back-to-back cruise?
A back-to-back cruise is exactly what it sounds like: you take one sailing, then hop right into the next one without flying home in between. Same suitcase. Same “where did I put the charger?” Same family. New adventure.
And the best part? It can save a ton in time and airfare. Instead of booking two separate trips with two separate flights, two rounds of airport stress, and two sets of “why is this TSA line not moving,” you basically bundle your travel into one big epic stretch. One round of flights (or at least fewer flights), fewer travel days eaten up by airports, and more time doing what you actually came for: cruising.
The lineup: Disney Destiny + MSC World America
This back-to-back was extra exciting because we did it on two of the newest ships out there: Disney Cruise Line’s brand-new Disney Destiny and MSC’s newest ship, World America.
First—Disney Destiny. WOW.
There’s just something about being on a brand-new Disney ship that feels like you’re stepping into the future… but with Mickey-shaped waffles. Everything felt shiny, fresh, and buzzing with that “we’re doing something special” energy. We were soaking up every detail like we were on a mission (because… we kind of were). From the atmosphere to the experiences to the little touches Disney always gets right—it was such an exciting ship to sail.
And then… MSC World America.
Let’s just say this: we have thoughts. 👀
And we’re keeping them under wraps for now because the footage deserves its own moment (and honestly, we’re still processing everything we saw, did, and ate). But if you like a little mystery with your cruise content… stay close. The World America videos are coming, and we’re going to spill everything when the time is right.
Now we’re home… and editing like elves
We came home with an absolutely wild amount of footage, and we are trying to get it all up as fast as humanly possible. We’re working as fast as Santa’s sleigh…
Okay—maybe not that fast. 😂
But it feels like it. Every time we sit down to edit, we remember another angle we want to include, another moment we captured, another clip where one of the kids says something unhinged in the background. There’s just so much good stuff.
Speaking of the Disney Destiny…
We just premiered something we are SO excited about: our POV ride of the new AquaMouse!💦Click Here🐭We rode it as a family and had the best time—laughing, screaming, and immediately trying to convince each other we could totally do “just one more.” (Spoiler: we did more than one more.)
And the kids? Oh my goodness.
They rode it an extremely high and slightly embarrassing amount of times. Like… if AquaMouse had a loyalty program, they’d be platinum members by now. But honestly? Watching them love it that much was one of those core-memory parenting moments—pure joy, zero hesitation, full send.
